The food was okay, but the presentation was poor and the price felt high. Nothing was outright bad, though you can eat much better elsewhere in the land of gastronomy.

We left without having enjoyed our stay. The room needed upkeep: the shower lights had been taped down, and the repair looked very clumsy. There was no bath stopper, so we couldn't fill the tub, and the shower hose had nowhere to hang. Cleanliness wasn't great either, and the room felt overpriced for this kind of hotel. The rate also seemed inconsistent and arbitrarily quoted, through the local tourist office, and close to the upper limit. The receptionist wasn't especially friendly, and breakfast cost too much for what was provided. One star may be a little harsh, and I know there are worse hotels, but two stars doesn't feel deserved either. The whole experience felt indifferent and uninvolved.

I'm reviewing the restaurant only. The cuisine is refined and excellent, and the prices are great value. It's my favorite place in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. If you love cheese, don't miss the cheese platter 😍😍😍. Well done to the chefs and the waitress, you make us proud of our gastronomy!

The room at the "La Garbure" guesthouse in Châteauneuf-du-Pape was tiny, with a window facing... well, you can guess! There's a photo attached. Noise carries everywhere, so we could hear everything said in the lobby, and cooking smells came straight into the room. It was unbearable. The bedding felt as thin as a plank, and the pillows were dirty and yellow under their pillowcases. For €100 a night, this place is worth €40 at most. At this point, it feels like a rip-off.
