ibis Chateauroux

As Diamond members, we felt right at home. A special thanks to Lydia, who was so friendly and hardworking. We felt very well looked after. Please pass on our thanks and appreciation.

I didn’t have time to explore, but the churches and local markets made it seem like a nice place. The hotel is central and quiet, the staff are friendly, and breakfast is good enough. Comfortable too, and good value for money.

The accommodation and food were good, and we managed with the parking even though the clearance was a little low. The issue for me was that the staff didn’t speak English. I think at least the reception staff should be able to.

The room was a decent size with plenty of storage, a walk-in shower, toilet and sink, and a very comfortable bed facing a large TV. No climbing over the bath or wrestling with a shower curtain. The hotel was clean to a high standard, so a big shout-out to the cleaners you don’t see. I stayed two nights in January, right in the centre. Once the car is in the underground parking, you can forget about it. Check-in was quick, handled by an efficient and friendly receptionist, and check-out was just as quick and fuss-free. Breakfast was a standard hot and cold buffet. If you’ve read my other hotel reviews, you know I didn’t go hungry. I’ll use this hotel again if I return to Chateauroux, and I’d have no hesitation recommending it. Thanks for everything.
