Avoid this place. Our stay at Hotel Edelweiss in Châtel in February 2026 was very disappointing. The room was tiny, around 10-12 square metres, so opening suitcases and moving around at the same time was impossible. The bathroom was extremely cramped, and the unpleasant, unhygienic shower curtain offered no privacy for either the toilet or shower. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable, and after several guests had showered there was no hot water. Housekeeping didn't come for three days. The cleaner showed up around 9 a.m.; if you were still in the room then, she didn't return later. The hotel is badly insulated. There was noise from 7 a.m. onwards, constant footsteps overhead, loud cleaning, and road traffic that was impossible to ignore. Reception felt cold, and departing guests got no attention. The location and free parking were the only positives. Otherwise, it was a restless stay and poor value for money.

The rooms are simple and comfortable, though the pillows felt a bit hard 😖. It's a nice little hotel with a good breakfast, and the ski lifts aren't too far away.
