Le Petit Cornillon

Cool place.

We were 18, and it worked really well: every bedroom had its own bathroom, the kitchen was superbly equipped, and the place was very comfortable. The chalet has a lovely view over the slopes and lifts and is very well located. The owners were warm, welcoming, and friendly, just like many people in Chatel. A real pleasure!

The gîte is very well equipped, though a little old-fashioned and full of decor. The view of the slopes is a lovely extra. Thank you!

The chalet matched its description and was spacious and nicely decorated. Its location was okay, even with the pile of manure beside it. But there was no inventory when we arrived, so check every room, drawer, spoon, pan, and utensil carefully. Don't move anything. Starting the next day, the owner kept pressing us to give a departure time for the inventory, without even saying hello, and was short on diplomacy. We paid 250 euros for cleaning, yet were expected to leave the chalet spotless, just as clean as when we arrived. Every glass was inspected; even the smallest washing mark meant hand washing and drying it with a cloth. Drawers had to be neatly arranged, bins emptied, curtains and shutters opened, curtain bases put back, and the beds remade. We were told to take off the sheets but leave the mattress covers in place, then put the pillows and cushions back in their matching rooms, so take photos when you arrive. If someone has been sick, germs could still be there for the next guests, especially in the beds. The emergency exit keys might be lost, which could leave you stuck inside if there's a fire, though we were told the inspection had been done the day before we arrived. For 5500 euros a week, we expected more than a simple gîte. We were very disappointed.
