Le Modern Htel

I mean it, this is the best bar in France. Franck, you're the best, love you!

Franck Bois makes this a great place to end the evening, with a warm welcome, a fun atmosphere, good prices and somewhere great to eat. Highly recommend it. Well done!

We just happened to stop in, and the welcome was quite pleasant. My ice cream was changed from passion fruit to strawberry, which was a bit disappointing. Still, it's okay.

We were six for dinner, expecting three meat dishes and three fish dishes. When the plates arrived, we were told there were only two fish dishes because the cook hadn't checked the stock. I got another meat dish instead, but the last person at our table had to sit and watch us eat, then waited a good 20 minutes after the rest of us for their food. The fish was borderline fresh and the meat a bit tough. The place also feels old and isn't aging well, and the traditional cooking wasn't worth what we paid. At least the waiter was nice. The older cook was quite a sight when she came into the dining room just after taking the curlers out of her hair, shouting to the waiter, “So, where are your goofballs?” She meant the group of about ten people on the terrace whose order she had to take, which took ages. She made our evening 😆
