We’re health professionals, and the way staff handled the situation felt unsafe. We arrived around 11 pm to find the place full of mosquitoes, spiders, and other flying insects. My girlfriend and I were being bitten while I struggled with the check-in machine, which was confusing to use. There was no staff member there, so I called; the man who answered didn’t want to speak English and tried to explain the process, including that I had to pay an extra €1.60. I asked for help so we could get inside quickly, but staff only wanted to speak poor Spanish and laughed a few times. We ended up at a medical center because of the bites and rash. Five days later we were still sick, covered in a rash, and had a fever. The room was disgraceful too: the floor and ceiling were dirty, the bathroom was very old, and even the toilet hadn’t been cleaned. I can’t give less than one star. Give us our money back. I can’t believe this happened, and Booking should take action against this place. Otherwise, I will.

The walk along the river into town is pleasant, though it takes about 30 minutes. There are dining options there, but you'll need to walk back since buses and taxis are rare. A burger place and a bakery are nearby. The hotel itself is cheap, but a bit sad.

The room had what we needed, and getting in and out of the building and car park was straightforward. It's quiet, accessible, and has loads of parking. Booking or changing a reservation was easy, and the instructions were clear. The price was okay, though another 10% off would make it the obvious choice.

The host was really helpful, and the place was clean. It's in a great spot with a good car park.

We've been coming back to the Hotel BnB at Chatellerault for several years. The service and stay have been just right each time, friendly and comfortable, and everything is extremely clean. Well done, and thank you.
