Gîte Le Bouquet

Chatillon is a great place, but this gite was the worst we’ve ever stayed in. The apartment can’t be locked off from the shared stairwell, and there’s nowhere secure for passports or other valuables. The mattresses were poor, and the oven and microwave were in bad condition. There was dog mess all over the lawn beside the barbecue. A ground-floor permanent resident had one, sometimes two, very loud dogs that barked frequently, and we had to be extremely quiet to avoid setting them off. We were also woken at 5am by someone using the integral garage, which was hired out for storage. The property itself is spacious and stands alone in a reasonably quiet residential area, very close to an interesting village.
