Cerise Chatou

The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, and having a small kitchen with appliances in the room was a real plus. The bathroom and toilet are set quite far apart, almost on opposite sides of the room, which felt a bit odd. It’s a little far from the centre, and morning traffic is a big drawback.

The room was spacious and clean, and the place itself felt tidy and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful too. It’s a simple, peaceful hotel in the Parisian suburb of Chatou, and while it’s a bit of a walk from the train station, I felt it was worth it. This is what I want from a hotel. Thanks for making my visit a pleasure.

We stayed there for almost a month after moving to France for my husband’s job, while we looked for an apartment. I didn’t speak French and neither did my kids, and the woman there, perhaps the manager, was consistently unpleasant whenever I asked her something. The front desk said they spoke English, German and French, but she still had a bad attitude when I spoke to her in English. She seemed nice to people who spoke French. Maybe it was because I was Asian, but I don’t know. The experience left me depressed and regretting our move. They gave us just one roll of toilet paper every few days, which wasn’t enough for a family of four, so I had to go down to the basement to ask for more. The sink was clogged from the first day and never repaired. The washing machine was broken and stayed that way, so I had to take all our laundry to a distant coin laundry with a toddler and a baby. It’s been a few years, so I think it’s okay to say this now. I’ll never return or recommend the place to my friends.

The price was good, and the hotel was clean and nice, though old and a little worn down. The shower hose was kinked, so anyone over 5'5" has to hunch under it. The shampoo was empty too, that sort of thing.
