Logis Hôtel Les Nympheas

The dining room had a lovely charm, and dinner turned out amazing after I saw the owner cooking in the kitchen and decided to eat there. The room was nice, though not fancy. I’d worried the price was a little high when I booked because I liked the location, but I’m glad I stayed.

The room was clean, but it was very dated and poorly maintained. We had to stay here for a wedding nearby, and the price was the main problem for me: 98 EUR for Saturday night to Sunday, without breakfast, felt like a complete rip-off. The usual rate seems to be 79 EUR a night, with an extra 19 EUR on Saturdays for no reason I could see. Staff don’t speak English, so brush up on your French. You could spend ten seconds on a major hotel search engine and find a better room.

The reception was especially thoughtful. While checking out, I mentioned that I’d lost a contact lens and was going to Krys in Vernon to look for a replacement before taking my girlfriend to Giverny. By the time I got to Krys, their staff told me that the hotel Nymphéas had called to say we’d left a pair of sunglasses behind. Such considerate, attentive service, and they went out of their way to help two strangers. Thank you! The hotel itself was peaceful and understated, a nice place for a tired traveller. Our room was clean and well cared for, with a comfortable bed and a clean, modern bathroom with a separate WC. The restaurant served beautifully prepared traditional French food, and breakfast was delicious, with the usual French spread of croissants, baguettes, meats, cheeses, yoghurt, fruit and more. Recommended.

The family room was really big, and the beds were comfortable. The door opened straight outside, like those American motels from old movies, which was cool. The shower and toilet had separate rooms, so you could use them separately. The staff were accommodating. Totally recommend!
