Le Clos de Chaussy

The room was impeccably clean, but that was the only bright spot in a stay that was deeply disappointing, probably my worst B&B experience. The welcome felt frosty and painfully awkward, and the atmosphere in the beautiful house was so oppressive that we couldn't enjoy it. Given how isolated the place is, getting there takes real motivation, which made the whole thing even more frustrating. Breakfast was very basic, just bread and a few pastries, with coffee that was frankly undrinkable. I'm writing this late, but felt I had to warn future travelers. In my view, this couple has no sense of hospitality and shouldn't be working in this field.

The place was lovely and quiet, just right for unwinding. I had a comfortable room, a delicious breakfast and a warm welcome at Clos de Chaussy. It made for a memorable stay, and I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing break in a beautiful setting.

The big garden and pool were wonderful, and the room was magnificent. We loved sharing the communal dinner with the other guests, and Princesse, the house dog, is adorable and affectionate. The owners made us feel welcome, and the property and its decor won us over. This was our first bed and breakfast stay, and we enjoyed it so much that we'd like to do it again. Domaine de Villarceaux, which we loved, is only a 5-minute drive away, and Paris is also a short drive. The welcome, conversations, location, room, garden and pool all made for a lovely visit. Hats off to the owner, who does EVERYTHING single-handedly, she's a real go-getter.

We stayed in the Vanilla room for one night on the first weekend of August. The newly renovated room was comfortable and had quality bedding, even if the decor wasn't quite our taste. The cottage has been carefully restored and is well cared for, and the garden is beautiful. We also really enjoyed the heated pool. The hosts were thoughtful and attentive.
