Vacanceole - Relais du Plessis

The room was really dirty, and I had to clean it before we could use anything. The setting is nice, with a town nearby and a supermarket just around the corner. The pool looked like it’d be nice in summer. Too bad the hot tub wasn’t running, since it would’ve been nice even in winter. The kids’ play area was acceptable, but there wasn’t much there.

Being near Richelieu was one good thing. The resort itself felt very tired, and the apartments need maintenance. The linen was clean, but the mattress covers were grubby, and the floors hadn’t been cleaned very well. Some cutlery and glasses had been left dirty by the previous tenants. We booked through Airbnb, which said WiFi was free. It was only available in reception, though, and cost extra to use in the room. The restaurant was another letdown: it was only serving mussels and chips, despite the menu outside reception listing several three-course options. We weren’t told about that when we booked.

The service was really bad. I had to clean the apartment myself, with hair and dirt on the floor, and it was full of flies. I couldn’t open the window to air the place out. They gave us sheets but no pillowcases. We asked twice, and each time they said they didn’t have any. I rate this place very low.

We came with a group from Paris and really enjoyed the peaceful, natural surroundings. The staff were lovely and helpful, and the food was good. Our room was very nice, newly renovated, and had a fully equipped kitchen. I’d highly recommend it.
