The free parking was a plus, and you can get hot drinks and snacks near reception at any hour. The man at the desk was friendly, too. But the room was unbearably warm, so we slept terribly. It’s all right if you only need a shower and a place to sleep. The bathroom reminded me of one in a campervan.

The night employee was very helpful, but the rooms have no fridge, microwave, or air conditioning. I used to think IBIS was a decent place to stay. Now they still keep your money if your travel plans change. It also seems some people stay here long term, and their children are still up past midnight.

The receptionist was cheerful and helpful, but the stay was awful. We were six people in two rooms for two nights. One room reeked of tobacco, and the replacement we were given still smelled of it, just less strongly. The other room was crawling with cockroaches, and there were no other rooms to move to. The whole hotel seemed grimy, with a bad smell throughout and curry lingering in the air. It also appeared that some guests were living there. If that’s how the hotel is being used, tourists should be told what to expect before booking. Getting to Disney or central Paris could also be difficult: public transport seemed inaccessible from this area, and an Uber might cost 70 euros.

I paid for a booking at IBIS Val D’Europe, but the confirmation email named a different IBIS hotel. I called and emailed straight away and never got a response, not even to the email. The booking couldn’t be refunded, so I lost all my money without using the hotel. They also didn’t help me switch to another hotel in the same IBIS chain.
