Hotel La Roseraie

The room was a little small, though it had everything we needed, and the hotel restaurant was great. Breakfast was good and well priced, so I recommend having it there. What really stood out was the staff: everyone was so polite and helpful, and the reception ladies even booked a hot air balloon flight for us.

Room 30 has an amazing bath, and the rooms are delightful. The food was incredible and the staff lovely. I'd highly recommend La Roseraie.

The restaurant has excellent food, with attentive staff, and the prices for both meals and rooms seem fair for somewhere so close to the Chateau de Chenonceaux. It's only a short walk, either along the street or by a hidden path we only found recently. Our room is always comfortable, clean, tidy, and spacious enough for the three of us, since our daughter likes sharing with us. The air conditioning is very welcome during summer visits. The current owner is so sweet and remembers us whenever we return, which makes the place feel like home. I've been staying at La Roseraie since I was a teenager, a very long time ago, and it's always been lovely. We'll keep stopping here on the way to and from my parents in the Dordognes as long as they live there.

The village is tiny and cute, and Chenonceau castle was just a five-minute walk from the hotel. It suited us perfectly, though a bigger place like Blois or Tours would offer more choices and convenience. With our rental car, getting to the other castles and towns nearby was easy. I loved the quiet, scenic garden and pool, and our room felt airy and open, so I was happy to spend time in it even though I usually don't linger in hotel rooms on vacation. We had a balcony-area room with a nice view, plenty of space, and an especially large bathroom. Everything was clean, and the bed was comfortable. They called before we arrived to ask if we'd need dinner, since we were getting in late and the small town might have left us hungry. The hotel's charm and beauty were even better than the photos. Service was great too. We spoke just a little French, and everyone was patient while we tried, though they all spoke pretty good English. Dinner was very good, if not the best we'd ever had, and we'd happily eat there again. We skipped hotel breakfast for quiches and pastries from the bakery next door. I wish I could've stayed a whole month. I'm obsessed with this hotel and already planning another visit.
