Having the whole gîte to ourselves was such a lucky treat. It’s a lovely house, nicely furnished, and Julia made us feel at home from the start. She was kind, relaxed and trustworthy, and around whenever we needed her without hovering. We even got to practise our English for five days. Thank you, Julia. We’ll remember this stay in our beloved region for a long time.

I spent a night here in September 2021 and really enjoyed meeting Julia. Everything was clean, comfortable and thoughtfully arranged, but the warm, joyful welcome is what made it feel like home.

The owners, Julia and Robert, are calm and wonderfully sociable, and the surroundings are lovely. Breakfast is at a communal bench that seats eight, with homemade jams. The rooms are oversized, spotless and nicely presented. After too many B&Bs that felt dry and impersonal, this convivial place was a delight. I came away relaxed, just when I needed it.

Julia’s hosting made an already great stay even more enjoyable. The place was clean, spacious and really comfortable.

The pool and grounds were a letdown. They looked beautiful in the photos, but seemed poorly maintained, and the host’s loud conversation with a friend broke the quiet. The room wasn’t very clean either, and the soundproofing was awful. We choose cottages because we like meeting the hosts and swapping ideas about what to see nearby. That didn’t happen here. Breakfast was alone in the kitchen, with very little choice. Luckily, we only stayed one night, and it was when we were leaving that we saw the most of the host. We’d seen good photos and reviews, but there was no welcome when we arrived. Two guests said the host was by the pool. Nobody had mentioned that she spoke English, so fortunately my husband could get by. She greeted us in her swimsuit, showed us the room, and that was all.
