It’s like a French or European version of a Travel Lodge or Premier Inn, which suited our needs perfectly. The staff were friendly and helpful, and one of them suggested a really good place to eat. The location is convenient, a short distance from the ferry terminal and close to the town’s eateries.

I’ve come back several times when spending a few days in Cherbourg wine shopping. It’s handy, fairly priced, and there are some good restaurants close by.

The setting is green and peaceful, right by the harbour and town, and parking nearby is free and easy. The hotel feels modern and well run, with genuinely friendly staff. Breakfast has a good range, and the bar is a nice place to spend the evening.

The port is really close, and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel itself was clean and pleasant.

We arrived around 22.00 with our 3 cats, and the receptionist was lovely and helpful from the start. The kitchen had closed, but when we asked for a few things we needed, including lemon and oil, he still managed to find them for us. The room was very clean, with a modern shower room, and it felt safe for the cats. Wi-fi is free, and breakfast had plenty of sweet and savoury choices. The staff were helpful throughout. It’s about a 5 minute walk from the port, with restaurants and coffee places nearby. I don’t really understand complaints that the place is outdated. I’m happy as long as it’s clean and the sheets and towels don’t smell like they were washed in an overloaded machine without detergent. I’d stay here again.
