We needed somewhere at very short notice to rest with our three pets while waiting for the next ferry after our trip, and this place worked for that. It's central, near the port and restaurants, with a view of a little port. The rooms were clean and roomy, though the property is old and a bit run down, and reception felt somewhat messy. We could hear dogs near the reception, but since we travel with three pets ourselves, that didn't bother us. People expecting a polished hotel may be disappointed, and perhaps its star rating sets expectations too high. If you're easily put off by older places and don't adapt well to different situations, I'd avoid it. If all you need is a clean room to sleep in and you don't mind the wear and age, it should do.

The good points were the view from the window and being close to town. Otherwise, it's very old and smelly, and there was dog hair. Over to you, Lady landlord. I'm sure you've got a witty reply ready... there you go.

The hotel could use clearer signs, as I found it poorly signposted. It looks a bit old at first, but the rooms are perfect and deserve the third star. There's plenty of room, although the toilet and bathroom share a space. Breakfast is French style, and the atmosphere is friendly, which made the stay pleasant.

The receptionist was really nice, and the rooms were clean, though dated. But when I arrived at 7 pm, I got locked out for an hour and couldn't reach her. Don't assume you can get back in after closing without an access code. On my last night, the shower water was cold too. The hotel feels old fashioned, and the hallways smell musty. I couldn't wait to get home, and it doesn't take much to make me happy.

It's an old fashioned hotel with that service of yesteryear, as it should be. The welcome was warm, the room clean, the bed comfortable, and it was quiet and well soundproofed. We liked the French breakfast, with bread, croissants, and all the trimmings. The location is very good, and pets are welcomed warmly. If you want modern amenities and the impersonal feel of a chain hotel, this isn't for you.
