Breakfast was a highlight every morning: fresh pastries, local jams, and great coffee, served in a beautiful setting. The host was welcoming and friendly without hovering, and made us feel like guests in a private home. La Demalerie is a gorgeous, quiet place in Cheverny, run with real heart. The historic French home has been restored with great taste, balancing its grand, soulful character with a warm, lived-in feel. The garden and outdoor hot tub were a peaceful spot to unwind after a day walking through castles, and the whole property was immaculate, from the linens to the shared spaces. If you’re touring the Loire Valley and want a B&B, this is a perfect choice.

We arrived home late one evening and ate leftovers under the gazebo. The hostess surprised us with a complimentary glass of wine, which was fantastic. She was warm and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The garden and jacuzzi are beautiful, and breakfast was generous, varied, and delicious. Everything was clean, tidy, and in its place. The peaceful location is within reasonable driving distance of the castles and tourist spots. You can’t go wrong choosing this place. Anna and Marius

Each morning, breakfast arrived thoughtfully packed in a picnic basket. On separate mornings there was pain perdu and a croque monsieur, both of which I still long for. Don’t miss the housemade jellies in the basket either. The hosts, Dominique & her husband, made our stay at this wonderful place one of the best parts of our trip to the many Châteaus of the Loire.

Dominique was a lovely host and reserved some nice restaurants for us for dinner. The apartment was nice, the location was great, and the gardens were lovely. Breakfast was incredible. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Salamandre cottage, a well-equipped two-story apartment with comfortable beds upstairs. Nothing was missing. Each morning there was a breakfast basket waiting outside, generously filled with delicious treats. The property is beautiful, very quiet and private, with parking behind an electronic gate. Thanks to the owner’s tips, we found some exceptional local restaurants. La Demalerie is a real gem, and we highly recommend it.
