The breakfast is straightforward but filling, with local foods and some excellent homemade jams. I also liked having local wine in the snug hotel bar. This is my favorite place to stay in the Loire Valley. The location is fabulous, and both the updated rooms and bathrooms were incredibly clean, a real plus in a historic hotel.

Hotel Diderot was a highlight of our fantastic trip to Chinon. We had an updated, spotless room, and the breakfast cheeses, homemade jams, yogurt, and bread were a lovely way to start the day. Visiting the nearby Chataeu in December was special, especially with the Christmas decorations.

The courtyard feels warm and cosy, with beautiful plants and flowers everywhere. This family-run hotel is right in the heart of Chinon, and our room was clean and quiet. The staff were kind and helpful. Thanks so much, we’ll definitely come back on another visit.

Breakfast is a lovely spread beside a huge fireplace, and the exterior is beautiful with plants all around. Hotel Diderot sits in an idyllic spot, an easy walk into town. A charming place in Chinon.

We had a lovely three-night stay at Hotel Diderot and will definitely return. It’s a great base for exploring the region, right in central Chinon and about a six-minute walk from the main town square. The rooms are lovely, and the staff were pleasant and helpful without hovering.
