Le Clos Saint Michel (CIC101)

The pool was well maintained and nice to use, and the place had parking with easy access. It’s very close to the city center too. The apartments for 4 adults are rather small, but they worked fine for us as a couple with 1 infant.

Not bad, and the Wi-Fi is free.

The citadel view and the residence’s convenient location were lovely. The staff were friendly, smiling, and professional, and the rooms were very clean. We’d happily come back.

The staff were friendly, but that was about the only redeeming feature besides the central location. Our room was a disgrace: dirty, worn out, much too small for four, and with no closets or any other storage for unpacking. The children’s room window faced the reception entrance and exit, so it was extremely noisy. The hallway light shone straight into the bedroom. It was very hot, and with no air conditioning we had to open the windows, since closing the blinds wasn’t an option. The kitchen had dishes, some still dirty, but no starter supplies like dishwasher detergent, a sponge, or a dish towel. Even the large refrigerator wasn’t clean. The bathroom was tiny and incredibly dirty, with only a bathtub and shower head. The pool was very small and only waist-deep at its deepest, so swimming was impossible. The gym was dark, windowless, and bare: a stationary bike, a stepper, and a screen you could connect to your phone, but no weights, other equipment, or floor exercise mats. Breakfast cost €13 per person. The croissants were delicious, but otherwise there was little choice, especially if you wanted something healthy. There was only sugary muesli, two tiny apples and two tiny kiwis, cooked ham, and Emmental, with no cream cheese or anything similar. Never again.
