Gîte De Charme : L'Ancienne Grange

We spent a weekend here with the Ambition Campus association and were really pleased with the stay. It’s a peaceful place that also works well for getting things done. The rooms and shared spaces were comfortable and kept in good shape. We’d happily recommend it.

The animals were a big part of the charm, quietly going about their day as if they belonged in the starring roles. They made the place feel more alive, and the setting left us with memories that feel almost too intense to explain. Maybe they’re memories, maybe a personal myth. Either way, we came away feeling something important had happened, without quite knowing why. Sleep was just as lovely. The bed felt like an invitation to disappear into the night, and I slept peacefully in the quiet. The surroundings made waking up feel special, too, like being wrapped in a landscape poem. Even the ordinary things seemed touched by poetry. The walls felt serene, the air soft, and morning coffee had such an idyllic, almost metaphysical aroma that breakfast felt like a promise fulfilled. Nothing was spectacular on its own, yet everything came together in an almost absurd harmony. This cottage was a little enchanted pause in life’s sometimes uneven story, full of a quiet happiness that felt almost indecent.

The outdoor setting was the best part of our wedding venue. We married here in June 2025, surrounded by forest, with no nearby neighbors. The garden was lovely for cocktails, and the beautiful barn hosted our meal and dancing. The venue itself is magnificent, and our wedding in the June sunshine was incredible. We fitted 40 people into bedrooms across three buildings. The rooms were clean and charming, each with its own bathroom. One of the gîtes has a large, practical kitchen where our servers could prepare service and clean up. Bruno, who is on site, gave us a warm welcome and was always glad to help. A few things to plan for: extra costs may apply when your guest count goes beyond the gîte's capacity, including extra parking, toilet rental, or on-call hours. There also wasn't enough furniture, so we had to rent tables, chairs, and dishes. The refrigerators and freezers were old, perhaps outdated. One refrigerator was already broken when we arrived, and another failed overnight, so we had to throw away spoiled cold cuts and cakes.
