The staff knew the door lock had been broken for days before we arrived, but they checked us in without telling us. We then had to find staff every time we wanted to get back into our room, which was especially inconvenient at night if one of us needed the toilet. When we said we weren’t happy with this, we were told there would be no refund. Management should reconsider its refund policy, or at least have a process for alerting guests to room problems so they can decide whether to accept the inconvenience.

The room smelled, and the trash bin hadn’t even been emptied. It made me wonder if the room had been cleaned at all. The bed wasn’t made either, and we were left with pillows and rolled-up blankets. Maybe a step had been missed, but we got in at 11pm and didn’t have the energy to complain.

There was piss all over the floor in the public toilets. Not a good visit. We’d been at F1 in saints before this and had no problems there.

After driving up from Spain, I needed somewhere for one night. This was the cheapest hotel in the area, on an industrial estate that was fairly quiet at night. Check-in was quick and easy. The room was clean and very basic, which was what I expected for the price. I didn’t use the shared showers, but the shared toilet was clean. There’s a McDonald's nearby and vending machines in reception. No checkout needed, just leave and go. I’ll use hotelF1 next time I drive through France.
