The front desk man was excellent. The hotel faces the boardwalk, but sits far enough back that it still feels relaxing. It's an old building that's been remodeled, keeping its charm in the right places while bringing the rooms fully up to date. Good AC, too.

Room 2 was on the first floor with a sea view, but very noisy: the road was right below, and people using the stairs made a lot of sound. The room was super tiny, and so was the bed for two people. It was clean, but there was hardly space to hang clothes or put anything. At 105€ plus taxes, it didn't feel like good value.

The price was very good for such a nice hotel. Staff were really professional, and our family room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. We weren't quite sure what to expect, so we were very pleasantly surprised and loved it.

The room decor was acceptable and it had what we needed, but the bathroom was overdue for a refurb by about 10 years and the bedroom by about five. You're paying for the view here, if your room has one. The hotel is on the busy Route de la Corniche, directly opposite the entrance to the harbour of St-Jean-de-Luz. From our room we could see along the coast and into the port. Parking nearby is difficult, with a public car park 100m away. A short walk gets you to a few bars and restaurants. We drove to Socoa for pizza one night and Cafe de la Plage for moules et frites the next. Neither was cordon bleu, but both were good value.
