We never got to check whether the place or room was nice, because we weren't given a room. We had a business trip and had let the owners know we would arrive late, but between 6 pm and 11 pm we tried calling them five to ten times without an answer. Their explanation that they thought it was a mistake seemed absurd for a B&B expecting guests that night. When we arrived, they said there was no room for us despite our Booking.com reservation. They insisted they hadn't received the booking, yet after we left we got an email from Booking.com saying we hadn't shown up. How could that be if the owners never got the reservation? Arriving earlier wouldn't have helped: they had accepted three reservations for two rooms that evening, so at least one guest was bound to have nowhere to sleep, and that was whoever arrived last. The place and room may be very nice if you're lucky enough to be welcomed, but we can't say. We are certain about the dishonesty.

Villa Clémence left us out on the street for the night. They didn't answer our calls, saying they thought it was a mistake, and our Booking.com reservation wasn't confirmed. Yet five minutes after turning us away, they were quick to report us to Booking.com as a no-show.

The setting is quiet and green, up in the mountains, and the owners are more than pleasant. If you're passing through on holiday and have a bit of time, stop to chat. A few minutes turns into a long conversation, with laughter under the stars late into the night. It's a historic place for anyone who likes a good chat, and the welcome is exceptional. There are extra guest rooms too, and it's always a pleasure to see you. I'm not even getting into breakfast.
