The place is extremely clean and quiet, with a restaurant nearby. Our hosts were very friendly and thoughtful about every detail. Be sure to do your grocery shopping ahead of time, since the nearest proper supermarket is a 25-minute drive away in Cilaos.

We loved staying here! Olivier was a fantastic host and made us feel really welcome, even though we’re Australians. It was a great experience.

The accommodation is comfortable, fully independent and well equipped, and the location is peaceful with a stunning view. It’s ideally situated. The owners are welcoming and happy to share hiking tips and great local recommendations. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you for a wonderful time at Palmiste Rouge 😊

Dominique and Olivier gave us a wonderful welcome, and we even got a little lesson in the garden’s botany. It was so peaceful: roosters in the morning and frogs and toads singing through the evening. We highly recommend it.
