Le Vieux Cep

The service was awful. I left a vest behind by accident and asked them to send it at my expense to the hotel where I’d be staying for the last few days of my trip. They didn’t offer any solution, then eventually stopped replying. The hotel itself was okay, though poorly maintained. The services were terrible.

The reception staff were so friendly, and we were able to use the spa when some rooms had no hot water. We stayed two nights and felt comfortable. The rooms gave us enough space, and breakfast was very good, with fresh orange juice you can squeeze yourself. I did expect a tourist hotel to have vegan butter and milk alternatives, especially for a milk allergy, but they didn’t.

We spent a week here on our honeymoon. The breakfasts and dinners were good, and guests can use the small heated pool, Jacuzzi, and fitness room for free. Our room was spacious enough and had a little balcony. When the weather was clear, we could see Piton des Neiges, and the view was amazing. Highly recommend it!

The warm pool and gym were nice, and the location is great. Still, I didn’t find the stay relaxing. Our ground-floor room had little sunlight and was so close to the corridor that we had hardly any privacy. The spa was out of service when we arrived, and the staff seemed quite disorganized. Breakfast had a strict time, and dinner at the hotel restaurant had to be booked well in advance, which put me off, especially with so many better options in town. It didn’t meet the standard I expected. Maybe we just had bad timing, but I wouldn’t return.
