We enjoyed two delicious dinners and found breakfast generous for a reasonable price. The manor has a lovely garden and sits in peaceful surroundings, a welcome break from the crowds at the chateaux while still being well placed for visits. Just down the lane, there’s a good canoe and bike rental spot, plus a cute bistro by the river for a drink.

We loved our stop here so much that we’ve booked another night for September. We were passing through on our way back from our home in France as the country was reopening during the Covid crisis, and I think we were the hotel’s only guests. The propriétaire made us feel very welcome, even opening the restaurant, which is usually closed on Sundays. He called in a very sweet, fully masked waitress from a nearby village to serve us, then cooked a fabulous, very reasonably priced three-course dinner himself. It’s an old-fashioned, quirky hotel and château, charmingly set in beautiful landscaped grounds. Everything you need is there, and staying here is a pleasure. Thoroughly recommend it.

There’s lots to choose from at breakfast, and the French dinner was nice too. The grounds include a large garden, a sizeable pond, and a little forest. Rooms are traditional, with some opening onto a balcony overlooking the garden.

A place with lots of character, and our room was clean and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. Breakfast could be a little better.

A brilliant little hotel.
