The village is absolutely lovely, and staying in the heart of it makes it easy to wander around and enjoy the surroundings. The accommodation is charming, beautiful and practical. Just be aware that the apartment is up a flight of stairs, and finding free parking can be difficult.

After a six-hour journey, we arrived at the accommodation, but nobody was there and we hadn’t received any instructions. We couldn’t reach anyone by phone or email, so we waited for four hours. In the end, we found another place to stay rather than head home, fortunately. About five hours later, we got a call from Hissla saying we were welcome. The travel company was also told that we were a “no show,” even though we had come. Save yourself the trouble and choose one of the many other places to stay in Riquewihr.

The town is wonderful, and the apartment is an interesting, convenient place right in the centre. But getting to it means climbing a very steep, narrow staircase inside the apartment, so it won’t suit everyone. Parking is a challenge too. We asked about parking, but the owners didn’t mention that you can get parking stickers at the Tourist Office next to the apartment when you arrive, for 4.50 rubles a day.

We were very comfortable in the clean, thoughtfully furnished Sandstein apartment, right at the top of the attic. Communication with the landlady was friendly and easy. You can drive up to the house to unload and load bags, then park nearby outside the city walls. Groceries are just around the corner, about 40 metres away, and there are lots of restaurants in Riquewihr. We’ll definitely come back. It’s in a wonderful spot in the heart of the old town. Being in the attic of an old house means climbing a few fairly steep stairs, and the second bed is reached by ladder. The apartment is well equipped, so we didn’t miss anything. The Reuter family

We paid a deposit of over €70 when booking, but our three-night stay was canceled at the last minute, when we were almost there on our first trip to France. It was a very strange and unprofessional situation. We got no help or suggestions for somewhere else to stay and had to sort it out ourselves. The second star is for refunding the deposit. If someone books and pays, they should be able to count on having a place to stay. This shouldn’t happen.
