Moulin de Vilgris

We only stayed one night while coming back from the south of France, but I'd consider a longer visit another time. It's a pretty old mill in a beautiful setting, not far from Paris. The rooms were comfortable and had everything needed, and there was private, closed-off parking. Anne-France and Alexis are lovely hosts.

This was our second visit, and we liked it so much we'd happily come back again. It's a delightful longère with a lovely garden and a small river running through it. The hosts are wonderful, the food and wine excellent, and there's secure private parking. Highly recommended.

The rooms on the garden side are cosy and look out toward the forest. Anne-France and Alexis serve a typical French breakfast with homemade jam 🥐, and they readily offer dinner recommendations, even making the reservation call for you. We also found the train from nearby Rambouillet to Paris Montparnasse convenient, taking 35 minutes via Versaille. Château Rambouillet is worth a visit too. Very, very nice place to stay, even for longer than our overnight stop.

The rooms are pretty and the setting is beautiful. The food was good, though expensive for what it was. It didn't feel very family friendly unless your kids are very quiet. Breakfast time wasn't flexible, which wasn't ideal for an early departure.
