Campanile Paris Ouest - Clamart – Vélizy

They seem to hand out room numbers without checking. After we’d checked in, strangers came into our room and were shocked to find us there. The rooms have no heating; they offered a blanket, and the air conditioning they turned on didn’t work at all. Then they said they’d changed our room, but gave us a card for another room that was already occupied. At the very least, this shouldn’t be happening.

It’s not in central Clamart, but it was very close to the offices I was visiting. For a business trip, the internet was reliable, breakfast was great, and I really enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. The rooms are simple but very clean. It’s rated three stars, and I’d say it’s a solid three-star hotel.

The staff were always available, and the 24-hour service and open space downstairs seem to be the main focus. But the room itself was average and needed a few repairs: the curtain was partly damaged, the soap holders were on the floor, and there was mold on the bathroom sealant. The room had no drinking water or kettle, since those basics are available only in the lobby. Having to get dressed again and go downstairs for them was annoying. Street noise and sounds from neighboring rooms came through quite a bit.

The hotel was dark, unclean, and poorly kept, and I found it completely unsuitable. We stayed two nights with my family. My two-year-old son slept in the cot the hotel provided, and after the first night he woke with red spots on his face, arms, and legs. He had even more bites after the second night. A pharmacist at the nearby pharmacy confirmed they were fleas, which horrified me. I have photos from the day we arrived and the day after our stay if proof is needed. I want an apology and, at the very least, a full refund. I intend to take this further.
