The food was so good that I’ll be back whenever I can. I’m a glider pilot in La Motte du Caire, and a friend’s recommendation led me to this restaurant. The food was fantastic, prepared in the kitchen and served by the husband.

There are hiking trails all around, and the region itself is beautiful. At the table, the homemade dishes and their well-known breads are a real highlight. Charlotte and Nicolas also offer cooking classes, and the welcome is just as lovely.

The rooms and bed linens were spotless, and the price was very reasonable. Most of the food was homemade and made with local products, from the delicious meals to a superb breakfast. We stayed at Le Tilleul on full board during a sports coaching course, returning to childhood places after more than thirty years. Marylou, I believe, welcomed us warmly, and we reminisced about village festivals. She looked after us from lunch through dinner and even packed a lovely picnic. The gîte owners were equally caring. I’ll definitely come back with my family, and I highly recommend it.

Our group of 12 hikers will definitely return, together or individually. We spent two nights at Les Tilleuls in Clamensane, staying in the gîte and five guest rooms, after our guide arranged the booking. We arrived soaked through, and Charlotte was immediately helpful, offering ways to dry our clothes and shoes. Her kindness continued on our Sunday departure day: with a hike planned and the weather as it was, she let us leave our belongings, change when we got back, and even take a hot shower. The two evening meals were varied, tasty, and generous, while the packed lunches were just as good. Breakfast was perfect, especially the homemade bread. We also got to know the friendly family, Nicolas and his children. Thanks again, Charlotte, for such an exceptional welcome.

The local produce really shines in the delicious dishes Charlotte and Nicolas prepare. Their guest rooms and cottages are comfortable and peaceful, set in a magnificent region. Already looking forward to coming back.
