We were driving from Italy to the UK and only spent one night here. I really wish we’d had longer. The hotel is tucked among the vineyards in peaceful French countryside, with stunning architecture and rolling views. Our large room was in an annex above the restaurant, and I was surprised by how spacious it was. During a fierce thunderstorm, we sat under cover sharing a cheese and meat platter with some wonderful Chateau wine. Absolutely perfect. Dogs are warmly welcomed 🐶

We visited in July of '25 as a family of four with two teenagers, and stayed in a suite with a separate room for the kids, a kitchen, a sitting room, and separate bathrooms. It cost about what you’d pay for one room in Paris. The breakfast buffet costs extra, but it’s worth it. We had dinner at the restaurant one night and were happy with the meal overall. My wife’s Arctic Char with pistachio sauce was well prepared, and the cheese plate was spectacular. The chicken filet was a bit disappointing, as it seemed pressed together. It was nice to see a selection of local wines.

We had a wonderful stay among the vineyards. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was delicious, and dogs are welcome for an extra 15 euros.

Avoid! This was appalling. In more than 25 years of going to restaurants, I’ve never been to a worse one. The maitre d was rude and seemed completely incompetent. We waited 20 minutes just to get water, and the staff seemed clueless with no one leading them. The food was honestly inedible. Even my 8-year-old daughter couldn’t eat her chicken. We were worried about food poisoning and left halfway through the main course. Then the maitre d had the cheek to charge us for two bottles of wine we hadn’t drunk. We’d abandoned the attempt to buy wine after they brought the wrong bottle. A thoroughly unhappy experience.

The restaurant was a highlight for us, with beautifully presented French-style food and impeccable service. We were also very happy with the accommodation. Our room was modern and thoughtfully laid out, and was outside the chateau itself. I’d highly recommend staying here for a few days in the Macon region.
