Hotel Residence Europe & Spa

We came to the hotel residence for my mum’s birthday. Two staff members gave us a warm welcome, but the rest of the stay was a real letdown. Other staff weren’t kind to us, and I’m very upset by the lack of communication and respect for our privacy. We left the sign out asking for housekeeping, but when we returned it had been changed to “Do Not Disturb.” Someone had clearly entered our room. At reception I asked who had been inside. I was told maintenance had gone in, but they didn’t explain why. The next morning the manager said a technician had entered to “increase airflow.” Neither my mum nor I had reported a problem, and nobody informed us or asked permission to enter while our belongings were in the room. The manager offered complimentary breakfast and housekeeping, but that didn’t address the concern. We leave tomorrow, and despite asking for the room to be cleaned, we haven’t had housekeeping at all during our three-day stay. I won’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone who expects to be told before staff enter their room.

The location worked really well, with great restaurants nearby and easy access to the metro and buses. The rooms are on the small side, but they’re spotless, very comfortable, and beautifully designed. Staff were warm, kind, and welcoming. I’d definitely stay here again!

The staff were very friendly and gave us a warm welcome, which I appreciated. Still, a few things bothered me. In the pre-check-in email a few days before our stay, I chose to pay for bad linnen for the wellness. All we got was a basic towel. I understand that renovations meant there were fewer changing rooms, but I’d have expected a bathrobe and slippers at least. Neither was provided. We also had to pay the tourist tax when we arrived, and this hadn’t been mentioned beforehand. The bedroom comfort was very basic, with little room for clothes and just half a roll of low-quality toilet paper.

The bed was genuinely comfortable, which is quite rare in a hotel, and the room was just the right size. It’s a welcoming, friendly place in a great location. I tried breakfast on one of my days there and really liked it. Looking forward to visiting Résidence Europe & Spa again soon. Merci pour cet agréable séjour !
