Best Western Plus Villa Saint Antoine

We came back to Clisson for a second visit and had a lovely stay. There are plenty of shops, bars and cafés to suit different tastes, and the hotel is a nice base for exploring before moving on. The terrace looks straight out at the Castle, with the river in front, a really special place to eat. The food and wine were delicious, and service was attentive and efficient. Inside, the hotel was clean and the staff charming and welcoming.

A river runs behind the property, and there’s a seating area where you can take in the view and atmosphere. The rooms are lovely and large, and there’s a decent-sized pool onsite, with a spa and jacuzzi just a few steps up the road. If you’re treating yourself in Clisson, this hotel is a winner. The food is fine cuisine. We had beetroot and pork to start, followed by rhubarb dessert.

I told reception about the problems, but didn’t even get an apology. For the prices they charge, that was appalling, and the place felt like a hostel. The only towel in our room was dirty and badly stained. I noticed after my shower, so I had no choice but to use it. The sheets didn’t look clean either, and there were hairs on the bedding. The shower control was so stiff I had to ask my partner to turn it on. At first the key card didn’t work, so I had to go back to reception for a real key. It looked like the door had been broken into. We were very disappointed and won’t book here again.

The staff were delightful and professional, but the room was freezing and there wasn’t even a spare duvet. The breakfast room music was intrusive and horrendous. The hotel feels more like a three-star place overall. Its facade and entrepreneurs lobby look shabby and poorly designed.
