Le Panoramique

My partner and I booked your hotel for June 14th to June 16th and planned to arrive before 8 PM. Our flight was delayed by more than an hour, so we couldn't make it. The day before, I had received an email saying check-in after 8 PM wasn't possible. From Nantes airport I emailed to explain the delay, but got a firm refusal. I asked whether the key could be left with a trusted person or a neighbor, but they wouldn't help find a solution. My calls to the hotel went unanswered, and the booking was non-refundable. It was stressful and frustrating, since we had nowhere else booked. I called a friend staying nearby, and he said his mother, who was at the same hotel for the same event, persuaded the receptionist to leave our key with her. Without her, we'd have had nowhere to sleep that night. The room wasn't satisfactory either. The pillows were small and uncomfortable, as the attached picture showed, and the room wasn't cleaned or serviced during our stay. When I asked the next day for extra pillows, the receptionist rudely refused and made no effort to help. My partner was unwell, so I asked to take breakfast to our room, but the receptionist objected and insisted that I remove the food from the tray. Staff were unprofessional and hostile throughout. Strangely enough, I was told I could leave the room key on the counter at checkout, so why couldn't they do that for check-in? It came across as either laziness or unwillingness to help. The service was inconsistent and unacceptable. On checkout day the alarm went off before 10 AM, with no explanation or apology. This stay was highly disappointing. I recommend avoiding this hotel at all costs.
