La Demeure de Cybele

After exploring the area, it was lovely to come back for a swim and a generous breakfast with homemade jams and local products. The owners are warm and attentive, and the house has a charming character with tastefully decorated rooms. It’s tucked among lavender fields, vineyards, and olive groves. At night, the sky is a wonderful sight, with no light pollution and even shooting stars. ❤

There’s an indoor parking area, so your vehicle is kept safely, and guests can use a refrigerator and microwave if they’d rather not go to the excellent restaurants nearby. Sandra is a charming owner who really looks after guests, and Elisa served a generous breakfast with great kindness and helpful tips on local places to visit. We stayed for a week in a very tasteful setting, with a spacious, comfortable, air-conditioned room and a lovely pool surrounded by greenery. One small downside is the weak internet coverage in the area, which does encourage you to disconnect, though the television keeps you informed. A good spot for a romantic break, without intrusive animals or boisterous children. S & JL.

The rooms are really beautiful, and there’s a lovely dining room with a small coffee machine for a morning treat. The hostess is so pleasant and always there for her guests. It’s a wonderful place, with parking, a superb garden, and a beautiful swimming pool. Highly recommend it.

A warning for anyone planning a holiday here: we had booked and paid on time for three nights in July 2020, back in September 2019. Then, the day before, Booking told us the reservation was cancelled because the Cybele residence had changed from a guest room into a gîte. We were arriving from another stay in the Périgord, not from home, so being left without a place to stay at our holiday destination was obviously very unpleasant.
