We were surrounded by Burgundy vineyards, with Beaune a short drive south and Dijon a short drive north. It made a great base for wine tastings and exploring chateaus and castles. My wife and I stayed three nights in a lovely room with a fireplace, French decor, a comfortable bed and a cozy duvet. Breakfast was served in the adjoining farmhouse, full of antiques and pictures from the winery’s 500 year history. Great accommodation, wine and food, and we made new friends too.

You’ll want a rental car, since it’s a bit of a drive to any town. The scenery is beautiful, though, and the hosts were great. Our room was clean and comfortable, and we had fresh fruit at breakfast. Their operation has been going for over 400 years, which was impressive to see.

The wine tour and tasting with Patrick was a trip highlight. He knew so much about wine and how it’s made, and was a pleasure to talk to. Matthieu, the winemaker, joined us later and was just as lovely.

The room had a nice historic feel and a fireplace, and parking was secure. The staff and service were okay. Breakfast was very basic, with no fruit.
