Gite la Maison du Tonnelier, Route des Grands Crus

What a fantastic place!

The biggest disappointment was breakfast. It was included in the price and was one reason we chose this cottage for good value, but the bakery was closed. Jacky and Michèle apologized, and there was coffee and tea, a 20cl bottle of milk, two mini jars of jam for four people for two days, and a few mini madeleines. For us, that didn’t make up for a full breakfast, so we had to buy everything we needed for both days. No offer or discount was made. The cottage was exceptionally clean, and the small terrace off the balcony was great for eating outside. Our car was parked safely in the locked courtyard. There was a barbecue, but even with Jacky’s extra help, we didn’t want to bother him as he’s quite elderly, so we managed without using it. Jacky and Michèle were lovely and kind, gave us excellent advice, and arranged the wine cellar tour just as promised on the booking website. We’ll remember our stay fondly.

We were delighted with our stay. The owners are charming, attentive and dependable, and the house is just as lovely as they are. It’s very comfortable, almost luxurious, with quality bedding, a well-equipped kitchen and a thoughtful layout. There’s high-speed Wi-Fi throughout, and the beautiful original staircase is well cared for. With hosts like these, it’s easy to have a wonderful time.

Michelle and Jacky were the best part, so kind, attentive and full of excellent recommendations. The gîte is in a lovely house in a quiet little village, well located for a Burgundy stay. It was superb and very clean.
