Chalet Nessa - Combloux

The mountain views are lovely, and it’s easy to get to the slopes. Chalet Nessa was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. We had a perfect stay and would happily come back.

The apartment is spacious and well located. Beyond that, the place was absolutely TERRIBLE. We arrived to find dust everywhere, even on the mattresses, and had to vacuum the whole apartment ourselves. The windows were filthy, there were dust bunnies under the beds, and the closets had hair in them. The doors and light switches were grimy, and there was no cleaning kit for us to use. The kitchen was just as bad. One oven didn't work, and the other was so dirty we wouldn't use it. The bin was full of crumbs. For a family of four there was only one knife, very little kitchen equipment, just a few mismatched glasses, and a crepe pan as the only frying pan. The bathroom heater and mirror light didn't work. In the living room, the sofa was so worn out that two people couldn't use it, and the roller shutters didn't work either. We stayed for six days and called every day, but nobody came to help. The service admitted it was only a booking center and could pass messages to local contacts, who did nothing. The people we dealt with came across as arrogant and more interested in taking our money than in our comfort or the quality of service. Avoid this place.

For New Year's Eve we had to buy our own wine glasses, oven dishes, and other utensils because the apartment had so little equipment. The dishes were plastic or broken, and there were just two saucepans about 10 cm across. It was impossible to cook for four adults. We complained to customer service several times. Each time they said they'd help, but they lied and nothing happened. The hair dryer seemed dangerous, the shower curtain was filthy, and we found pizza sauce packets by the sofa, so it didn't look as though the place had been cleaned. Using the toaster tripped the meter every time. Then, during our stay at the end of December, we had no heating or hot water for 24 hours. We called and emailed, but got no response, despite what the person we spoke to had promised the night before. They collect the rent and leave you to deal with everything yourself. Customers are being held hostage. Don't stay here, it's a big scam!

The location was perfect, the rooms were clean, and the service was friendly. It had a lovely holiday feel, and I’ll definitely come back.
