Catherine deserves a special mention for being so helpful and polite when she checked us in, and again at breakfast, where she seemed to be the only front-of-house staff member. We were Australians cycling around Brittany and stayed one night. Our room was spacious, and dinner on the terrace was very nice. The staff were efficient, and Catherine made the visit that much more enjoyable.

After a long day on the road, the warm welcome from the staff meant a lot. The atmosphere was lovely, and I’d happily stay and have dinner here again.

It’s a pity the hotel feels so dated and lacking in character, with no plants or pictures, given the building itself and its location by the lake and castle. The staff were helpful, but that didn’t change our overall impression. We weren’t positive about the stay, though you can decide for yourself.

I’m from Lyon, so I can assure you my standards are high, and this place has impressed me every time. I stayed regularly in 2025 and 2026 and ate at the restaurant with great pleasure. The food, service, and atmosphere are all spot on. The Cancale oysters and sea bream were excellent. This establishment deserves far more stars, and I highly recommend it. Don’t let the old reviews put you off.

We booked straight through the hotel website and had a very pleasant stay. The welcome was warm, our room was spacious, and both the food and service were excellent. You can tell they care about doing things well. Great customer service, and we’ll gladly return.
