The riverside B&B has lovely, spacious rooms, and you don't need to be a beekeeper to stay there. I recently did their three-day residential course and had such a good time. Kevin and Amanda are warm hosts, and their enthusiasm and knowledge really come through in how they teach. The sessions felt relaxed and fun, with no pressure, so people of different ages and experience levels could get comfortable and learn. I'll likely be back for another of their courses. A quiet spot just beyond the main town, with a generous-sized room and very fair prices. We were greeted warmly and would definitely come back.

Breakfast was very nice, served in a lovely dining room. The shared spaces were good places to read, have coffee or wine, and chat. Amanda and Kevin are generous, professional hosts who clearly care about what they do. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well equipped, and the house is a peaceful retreat in an interesting part of France. We'd stay here again next time we're nearby.

Confolens is only about a five-minute walk away, and I can see myself returning. I spent three nights at 13 Bees and found the house a wonderfully peaceful place, especially for anyone into nature or birdwatching. It sits among lovely trees and wildflowers, with butterflies everywhere. I even spotted two golden orioles playing among the branches. Mornings brought wonderful birdsong, and in the evening the frogs along the river Vienne were so loud it made me laugh with delight. My room was huge by UK standards, with a large en-suite and a rainfall shower with fantastic pressure. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and I had everything I needed, including an exceptional breakfast. Amanda and Kevin were lovely and knew so much about the area. I might try one of their beekeeping tasters next time.
