The weather didn't cooperate for observing during our couple of nights there, but Sue made us feel very welcome and the 'Hub' was a lovely place to unwind. It's a great option for amateur astronomers: bring your own gear or travel lighter and book from the good selection available on site.

We wanted to check that the AstroFarm was reachable by train and bus from our home in Bordeaux, and to see what astronomy equipment was available and how we might use the site. We visited in May 2021, just after France lifted its COVID-19 travel ban. We knew the skies would probably be cloudy, but still wanted an outing. The lovely surprise was Confolens itself, along with the friendly cats and dogs at the AstroFarm.
