Club Wyndham Normandy

This is a very remote place, though it is quiet. The rooms were clean, but both the rooms and bathrooms needed some small repairs. Parking might also be difficult when the hotel is busy, since it isn't very large. In the room, the selection of coffee, sugar, tea and other basics was very limited. We had booked one night and told reception we might extend our stay. They asked us to confirm by 10 PM, and we did, but in the morning the receptionist had to check because the night shift hadn't passed on the information. The village then lost power on our second day, and it wasn't restored until late afternoon. We chose to stay a third night and told reception, but were charged more for the second night than for the first and third, on the grounds that prices change daily. At checkout, the daytime receptionist said the rate should have been the same each night. Still, we weren't offered anything for the power being out all night and most of the day. No one had mentioned that booking several days at once could get us a discount, either. The receptionist said he couldn't approve a discount for the inconvenience because he wasn't the manager. I wasn't convinced, since receptionists at other hotels use software for bookings and prices too. The place didn't seem to be run very efficiently or professionally, more like somewhere just managing to keep going. There were very few staff, and they seemed to have little hospitality experience. The service was horrible.
