Le Moulin De Connelles

Our stay was wonderful. It's a tucked-away, romantic spot by the Seine, very peaceful, with a lovely dining room overlooking the river and good food. You can go for a swim or take out a small rowing boat, and the surrounding area is charming. The woman at reception was helpful and lovely.

Karin won me over, along with the lovely atmosphere she creates for guests. I think this may be my favorite hotel in France. We normally move between different hotels and stay just one night on short trips, but here we kept wishing we could stay longer. We added another night, then came back for one more on our return journey. Every viewpoint seems worth painting. I'm sure Monet painted this place somewhere, though perhaps the picture is lost or in a private collection. He couldn't have missed it.

I didn't stay here, I was next door, but I visited several times during my two-week trip for memorable dinners, time relaxing by the fireplace, and great chats with the patron. The food and wine were the best I've had, even better than Aspen or Bever Creek Colorado. The river runs through the property, and its history makes it worth a visit. It's a wonderful choice if you're after peace, quiet, romance and privacy, with an incredible menu. Set on a quiet road, it's easy to miss if you blink. Don't pass up the experience when you're in Normandy.

It's a quiet, friendly place for a retreat, and a nice spot if you need to stay in touch with your loved ones. Getting there isn't easy, which helps you switch off. Make sure to book lunch and dinner at the restaurant, since the kitchen keeps strict hours. The receptionist was very kind and made a real effort to communicate. He said he speaks English, Spanish and some German.
