Le Castellou

Manu and Flo were such friendly, welcoming hosts. We turned up a day early, and they still found a way to fit us in. The rooms were clean and lovely, and we shared stories and plenty of laughs over fresh food from the region. It was the best possible start to our pilgrimage. We hope to welcome them in our home country someday!

The quiet, clean rooms and a full day resting on the patio with a book made my extra day on the walk deeply restful. After hurting my leg, I needed to pause before carrying on to Figeac to finish the route. My son had booked Le Castellou through Booking.com for one night, but the owners, Manu and Florence, made it easy to stay longer and were incredible hosts. The clean river across the street was perfect for swimming and cooling my legs. Manu's cooking was the best food I had on the hike, made with carefully chosen local, organic ingredients. I hope to come back with my wife next year. You won't be disappointed.

The evening meal was the standout, with fabulous food and friendly hosts. The location is great, and Conques itself is as picturesque as a fairytale castle. Rooms are spacious and have original decor. What more could you ask for?

After a tough walk from Le Puy en Velay in high temperatures, Le Castellou felt like an oasis. We stayed two nights this week after finishing the walk, and Manu and Flo treated us like royalty. The food was wonderful, and magical Conques made the stay even more special. We'd recommend this place to anyone traveling the Camino. Thank you for such great memories, Manu and Flo!
