Hotel Cosmos & Spa

The building has the classic elegance of the Belle epoque, and the furniture being dated, as some reviews mention, seems exactly the idea. We stopped for one night on the way from the Netherlands and got more than we expected. There’s a beautiful swimming pool, large parking area, fitness facilities, a very good restaurant, and a sauna. The staff are super friendly, and the breakfast is amazing for a hotel in this price range. Excellent value for money.

The pool is fantastic, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. It’s in a beautiful historic building and very conveniently located. The rooms don’t have air conditioning, but they’re spacious and comfortable overall.

The prices are far too high for what you get. We paid €102 for a small three-course dinner of mediocre quality with rushed, poor service. The €36 menu was much too small, and the main course came with no salad, potatoes, fries, gratin, or any other accompaniment. The salmon was a small portion, slightly overcooked, and clearly prepared in advance. The extra fries we requested cost €12, and a small glass of house wine was €6. The service made us feel hurried from start to finish. The waiters rushed past the tables and kept asking if we’d chosen, even with the menu open in front of us. There were no more than five minutes between courses. When we asked for fries or potatoes with the main course, the waiter seemed insulted. He did arrange fries after we insisted, but they arrived 10 minutes later, while the salmon had taken five. The food was okay, but that’s about all I can say. From the entrance, the building looks spacious, luxurious, and promising, but the experience was very disappointing. The atmosphere was rushed, and the waiters seemed either inexperienced or easily insulted.

The room was clean and spacious, and we had a very pleasant stay. There’s plenty of parking and good restaurants both nearby and in the hotel. Reception is staffed around the clock, and there’s an indoor tennis court plus lots of other activities.
