We were shocked by how harshly we were spoken to. We’re teenagers, between 13 and 18, and had gone together to ask the person in charge whether there’d been a mistake with a prize one of our friends received. She said she didn’t want so many of us there, accused us of being aggressive without us saying a word, asked where we came from, and told us not to come back. We’d only wanted to support our friend. I’m a rider and had come with my stable for a competition that Sunday. After a rushed, nonchalant awards ceremony, my friend was given a used pony-sized saddle pad, even though we compete at club level.

The ponds are just a short walk away, with lovely paths through a peaceful, restorative setting. We also loved being so close to the horses at the stables, and the carriage ride and pony lesson for our daughter made the weekend unforgettable. Justine welcomed us so warmly and was attentive to everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious, with thoughtful little touches for our daughter. We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend in the magical cabin. Thanks again for everything!

Romane was kind, and my daughters really enjoyed the pony ride. The accommodation was unusual and the setting was pleasant for our family night with two children, but the price felt high for what was provided. It was very cold when we arrived, though it did warm up overnight; turning on the heating before guests arrive would help. The shower was blocked, and there were only two pillows for four, though that was sorted fairly quickly. The dining area didn’t work well for four, with just three stools, so we brought the outdoor table inside. The tableware needed attention too: one knife, two spoons, another half-broken knife, and no glasses.

Justine was incredibly kind and helpful, and we’d love to come back, perhaps to stay in the gypsy caravan next time. We chose the Enchanted Cabin, which was charming, clean, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and being able to have it from 6 am while listening to the birds was a lovely, restful start to the day. Waking to birds and horses was lovely too. We could visit the stables, pet the horses, and use the playground right next door. A fantastic, refreshing weekend away!
