Campanile NATURE - Bordeaux Sud Gradignan Talence

Genevieve kindly moved us to a double room since one was available. The room had everything we needed, and getting to central Talence or Bordeaux was easy, with a 20-minute walk to the tram stop. Thanks for a lovely stay!

The staff were cheerful and helpful throughout, which stood out to us. The three nights were peaceful, and the quiet area meant nothing disturbed our sleep. For getting around by car, the location is handy, just off the motorways. A tram is a few minutes away, where you can park for free and take everyone into the city center and back for a few euros. Look up the "parc relais" deal. I parked at Arts et Métiers. Major malls are about 10 minutes away, and you can pick up cannelés at "la toque cuivrée" nearby before leaving town. Cinemas and late-night food places are also just a short drive away. The rooms have a motel feel and are basic rather than new, but they're very clean and functional, with everything working well. The heating was powerful, and the bathtub was nice with great water pressure. We'd just come from a brand-new hotel where we had to change rooms three times because of technical or cleanliness problems, so this was a relief. Campanile puts real care into the food. The breakfast buffet was fully stocked even though we were the only ones there and it was minutes from closing. There was a good range, including both crepes and pancakes, plus hot chocolate and decaf. We were surprised such a small hotel could offer so much. The restaurant area was kept hygienic too, with tables and chairs sanitized after each guest left. Much recommended for road trips with friends or for business.

We like staying with the Campanile chain. The rooms are simple but very clean, with tea and coffee facilities, and our dogs are allowed to stay in the room. Breakfast is fresh and the croissants are really good, though I think it's overpriced for what you get.

We stopped for lunch while the car was charging. The two croque monsieurs were okay, but the ham inside was still frozen.
