B&B HOTEL Calais Terminal Cité de l'Europe 3 étoiles

We’ve been staying here regularly for 24 years, since it was the IBIS. B&B Hotels refurbished it but kept the same general layout. Dinner was first rate and excellent value, and the staff were all professional, polite and friendly. It’s a handy base for shopping at Cite Europe or in Calais, and only a ten-minute drive from Le Shuttle. It also makes a good stop when travelling further by car, with excellent facilities nearby.

This is our usual stop when we’re heading into Europe. We found the rooms tidy and clean, and the beds comfortable. Reception staff are welcoming and speak good English. Breakfast had plenty of food and drink options. There’s an evening meal service too, though we didn’t try it. Parking is good, and the City of Europe shopping centre and a fuel station are very close.

We had a big room that fit all four of us, and they provided a large travel cot for our baby. It was perfect for our family’s night here before crossing back to the UK. The shopping centre is a five-minute walk away, with a large Carrefour and lots of restaurants. We needed to leave early, so the breakfast pack worked really well. It was great, with gluten-free bread on request, eggs, several kinds of bread, cheese, charcuterie, coffee and juice.

We come here every time we visit France, since it’s a great place to break up the journey. At first, the number of police staying around these three hotels can seem a bit ominous, but we now know it’s a popular place for them to stay in Calais. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and good value for such a popular spot. They’re nothing fancy, but they have everything we need for a quick overnight stop. Breakfast is always good value, and the staff are so helpful, a real credit to the company. Thanks for another great stay.
