Maison Bakéa

Tres magnifique! Catherine's hospitality really stays with you. We've brought two groups here, and both visits were amazing. The place feels authentic and welcoming, with the charming historic town right outside and beautiful valley views all around. We can't wait to return and stay longer.

Breakfast was a real treat, with local cheeses, yogurt, and charcuterie, served either at the big dining table or on the patio overlooking the views. Maison Bakea is in Cordes-sur-Ciel, and walking out the back door straight into the medieval streets feels like a secret way into the past. The host was incredibly attentive and welcoming, even setting up a ground-floor room for a family member with reduced mobility. The restored house keeps its 13th-century feel, thanks in part to local artisans, while offering spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms, and strong Wi-Fi. Parking at the top of the village is a real plus. A truly memorable stay.

Catherine was such a warm and generous host. We felt completely welcome and valued, and she shared some of her extensive knowledge of the town with us. Our room at Maison Bakéa had a great view, a huge comfortable bed, and lots of thoughtful details. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with lovely views over the countryside around Corde-Sur-Ciel. It’s a historic guesthouse in the heart of a spectacular town with a fascinating past. I’d happily recommend both a visit to this stunning medieval town and a stay at La Maison Bakéa.

Breakfast in the high-ceilinged medieval room was a highlight, with fresh fruit and pastries, coffee, and scrambled eggs made to order. The food was delicious, a cut above what I've had at five-star hotels. The building dates back to the 14th century and sits on the edge of a hilltop town with glorious views. The owner is a charming, attentive French woman who has recently restored the rooms to a very high standard. We brought our three teenage boys, and they loved it. They made us all feel very welcome.
