The location is handy, with restaurants nearby, and breakfast was fine, with enough to eat. But the stay left us very disappointed. The welcome felt impersonal, like being handed a code for an Airbnb key box, and the room had dated 1960s decor and bedding. It was cold at night, so we were glad to be offered herbal tea when we got back. Then we noticed that all the cups smelled awful just as we were about to drink, so the tea went down the sink. A real shame, since something warm would have helped. At €120, half the price, we would have found it understandable. We’d suggest looking for hotels in Cormatin instead.

We were welcomed warmly, and the spot by the stream is really pretty. Everything else was fine, though our room had such a strong damp smell that opening the doors and windows wide didn’t clear it. The building must be old, so I suppose this sort of issue can happen. Maybe some room fragrance would help mask it a little.

We were delighted with our stay. There’s a pleasant shared area, private parking, and restaurants you can reach on foot. The room was very clean and quiet, and breakfast was perfectly decent. There’s even an artisan gallery on site. A really good deal for the price.

We spent one night here with friends and really liked being able to stay in the same building while each having a private room and bathroom. There’s also a small kitchenette. The price for the night with breakfast was unbeatable, and the welcome was warm and friendly. Rooms were clean and the grounds were well kept. It’s an unusual, historic place right in the heart of Cormatin, with shops within walking distance. You can go straight into a gallery of beautiful handmade products, so have your euros ready, you’ll be tempted! A couple of personal drawbacks: in the Poppy room, I found the mattress and pillows too soft, and the Wi-Fi barely reached the rooms.

Very peaceful, with a lot of history to it. It’s an old watermill that used to be a spinning mill.
